This project is a quick and easy way to make a professional-looking accessory for your home. I love the cheerful look, and it’s so fun to get a chance to use my finger-knitting skills! I made a heart because I had some nice red yarn handy, but you could use the same technique to make any sort of decoration you like: letters, shapes, or even multicolored patterns.

    Gather your materials.

Before beginning, insert a piece of cardboard or thick paper into your pillowcase to prevent the glue from bleeding through. Take a long finger-knit yarn piece and shape a heart onto the pillowcase. For a 14" square pillow, I used a 32" long piece. Once you’ve formed your heart shape, tie the loose ends of the knitted piece together. You can create a bow if desired. Otherwise, trim the loose yarn edges.

Using fabric fusion adhesive, carefully attach the heart in place on the surface of the pillowcase.

Once your heart is glued in place, take a large, heavy book and gently place it on top of the fused yarn. Allow the pillowcase to dry for 2–4 hours.

Once dry, insert your pillow form into the case and your pillow is ready for display!
