Clay Stone & Suede Necklace

Most of the time, shopping for jewelry can be difficult because, similar to the way we take our coffee, we each have personal style and different tastes. Luckily, I stumbled upon this awesome clay bead maker that allowed me to make this gorgeous clay stone and suede necklace. The best part? All beads are created equal, and you can customize this necklace down to the embellishment, arrangement, and color scheme. For all jewelry enthusiasts, this clay bead maker is a must!

With your hands, roll the clay into ¾ in. sized balls. I created 5 of these so that my necklace has 5 beads, but feel free to create more if you’d like your necklace to be bigger or bolder (you can create up to 9 beads).

For each ball, enclose it in the clay bead maker. Use one hand to hold the base of the bead maker in place while using your other hand to roll the clay ball back and forth with the top of the bead maker. Do this until the ball rolls into the beaded shape smoothly and evenly.

Put the now sculpted bead into the pinning position, which is located as a small indentation at either end of the base of the bead maker. Insert a copper pin through the middle of the bead until it appears on the other side so that your bead is skewered through. Repeat steps 3-7 for each clay ball. After all your beads have been sculpted and skewered, bake them in the oven according to the instructions on the clay package.
